About me
Hi, I'm Stef. I'm a Belgian software developer with 15 years of experience, taking a sabbath to explore the world, to study, to experiment and to write about this journey.
If you wanna know more about why this blog came to be, check out my post on the inception.
I'm an inquisitive person: I want to know how things work, why something works the way it does, and I'm always eager to learn new things; sometimes the most random ones. I can get lost on Wikipedia pages about Napoleon or lose myself in figuring out which monitor I should buy if I want to 4K game and game on it. MBTI would type me as "INTJ" or Enneagram as type five.

The blog name
This blog is published under the pseudonym of Nora Reit, a creative anagram I decided to use for my writing endeavors. I've been using these anagrams for quite some time now and I've come to see them as a form of personal branding.
Other interests
Besides all things software-development-related, there are several other things that pique my interest and enthusiasm:
- Music: I like to pretend I play some keyboard/piano and (bass) guitar, but mostly I like to drown in heavy beats, wavy synths, distorted guitars, or goosebumps-inducing strings (the instrument, not the data type). Now and then I need some music to touch me deeply. I love going to concerts and festivals too.
- Food: I definitely don't pretend to be a foodie or to be a good cook. But I love eating good food and drinking nice cocktails, wine or beer. The food needs to be vegetarian-friendly, though, because my 11-year-old self decided that would be my way of life.
- Gaming: As most millennial boys, I've been playing games since I was a kid. I still like to play a few classics like Wolfenstein Enemy Territory and Rome Total War. Besides that, I have a steam library which is screaming for a very long sabbath, but the reality is that a lot of them will stay on very few hours of gameplay.
